It’s the last day of January. Where did that go?

You’ve been back at work for a couple of weeks, the kids are back to school (mine starts kindergarten today!), you feel like you’re back into the swing of things.

Or maybe not. Some days it’s still harder to power up than others, and you don’t even have the excuse of “it’s the end of the year, I’m tired”. And that’s ok. That big goal you set for the year, the huge achievements you want to have, the side project you want to get started – some days you just won’t feel up to it. That’s called being a normal human being. Contrary to the many articles you’re probably scrolling over in your social media feeds, not everyone wants to “crush” 2019. Not every day, at least.

So, if you’ve arrived at the end of January and don’t quite feel like you’re “there” yet, relax and let yourself off the hook.

Instead, start looking forward to what we at Women in Strata have lined up for you this year:

  • Our mentoring program is about to get moving with our Train the Mentor evening on 12 February. Mentors and mentees will have heard directly from us with the details for that evening (if you haven’t, reply to this email and let us know).
  • Save the date: Friday 8 March – International Women’s Day – and stay tuned for the event announcement you’ll have to move super fast to get in on
  • Call us crazy (I certainly called some of your steering committee members crazy when this was decided), but as we head in to the colder months this year you’ll receive an invite to an event that will warm your vocal cords…and that’s all I’m saying for now
  • You told us you’d like to get better at networking, so we’ll be giving you a helping hand at our very first networking evening, where you’ll learn that networking is not a dirty word.

So much to look forward to.

If you know other women in strata and you’re sure they would love to be part of these events, do forward this email on to them. They can sign up to our mailing list here so they don’t miss a thing.
