Last Thursday evening’s end-of-year get together was a fabulous success, with over 50 women and men in strata enjoying the city skyline from 98 Riley Street’s enviable rooftop terrace.
Photos of the evening are here.
Over 60 bags were collected on the evening by Jo from Share the Dignity.
Jo’s words touched all of us when she spoke of her first hand experience of the important work Share the Dignity does for women who are living on the streets and in domestic violence shelters: she explained to us that the bracelet she was wearing was received by her this time last year, in a bag donated to Share the Dignity.
Summing it up so well is this quote from a woman in strata who emailed the steering committee after the event:
“Congratulations and thank you for creating Women in Strata….I had to give myself a good talking to, to take time out for the inaugural meeting. Since then, Ash has given me permission to get out into the sunshine at lunchtime. Which makes me happy. And tonight I left the office at 5.30pm to be with wonderful, inspirational people I like and admire. And I got to gift four handbags I’d rarely used and didn’t need, which made me even more happy. My abiding take away from tonight was from your beautiful Share The Dignity ambassador: ‘I still wear the bracelet every day. It doesn’t leave my side…’ “
Our thanks to everyone who attended on the night and donated a bag to Share the Dignity’s #itsinthebag campaign.
Jodie Masson of Massons Lawyers was the lucky winner of the She Lion clutch, while Caren Chen of Tinworth & Co won the Sydney Kings family pass.
