Aloha! I’ve just returned from Hawaii where I learnt the beautiful meaning behind this greeting;
Alo – Sharing/To be Present | ha – life energy/life breath
To say Aloha is to say, ‘here I am, present, and I share with you my life breath’. Significant and beautiful. And the perfect introduction to our end of year celebration event. Where we want to celebrate and share with you all that was 2017!
So put on your dancing shoes (or your comfy ones, we don’t mind) and join us on Thursday 14 December from 6pm on the gorgeous roof top of The Royal Exhibition Hotel, in Surry Hills (right next to Central station).
With thanks to our wonderful sponsors, Lefand Group and Strata Community Insurance , this event is complimentary and will include drinks and food. As you have no doubt come to expect from our fabulous events there will be lucky door prizes, lot’s of laughter and best of all the joy of simply being together. Register here, as tickets are limited.
Last year you told us how much you enjoyed being part of the Share the Dignity ‘It’s In the Bag’ Drive so we have once again partnered with this wonderful charity to help those in need. You can read all about the drive here and we will be sending you helpful tips and tricks to create your bags closer to date. The receiving of a gift, as small as it may seem to us, truly makes all the difference for women living on the streets and in shelters. These gifts do indeed breath life into the women who receive them.
I’m also happy to collect bags from anyone unable to attend the event, and we’ll have collection boxes for anyone who wants to bring along pads and tampons on the night as well. The charity is short on tampons following the August collection and any help is appreciated.
Finally, a quick reminder that applications for the mentoring program close on Monday 6 November 2017. We are SO excited by the number of applications received to date and encourage anyone with an interest to apply on our women in strata mentoring page by clicking here.
