“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn” – Phil Collins
WiS are pleased to announce the launch of our mentoring program, where we will match and support mentor to mentee to improve confidence and skills within the strata sector. Our dedicated mentoring page lists all the key dates, as well as benefits of being involved.
The official launch of the WiS mentoring program is Thursday, 5 October 2017, at a breakfast event generously hosted by Macquarie Bank at their offices in Sydney city. Registrations are now open and if you are at all interested in being either a mentee or mentor please come along to learn all about the program.
Our expert panel comprising Amanda Farmer, Robert Van Aalst and Laura Mears will be discussing the benefits both of being mentored and being a mentor, and you can ask all the questions you may have. The program has been developed over the last six months and is based on research into similar successful programs, particularly within the property industry.
Our aim in running the program is to increase confidence for women across multiple disciplines related to our sector, including strata management, business and people management. The benefits of being part of a mentor relationship extend beyond just the two people directly involved but also to their employers. Everyone who participates will be required to agree to a strict code-of-conduct in relation to confidentiality and interactions.
Every participant will receive a comprehensive handbook and over the weeks following the launch. We invite any person with experience and expertise in the sector who might be interested in mentoring to consider signing up. I am happy to answer any questions you have, please let me know.
